From older vines that cling to the Simonsberg in the tiny, mountainous ward of Banghoek within Stellenbosch. Dry grown vines grow thin and weedy on these vertigionous slopes. The fruit is hand-picked, crushed then naturally fermented at Wildeberg.
Tasting notes
Ripe yet restrained fruit on the nose with citrus, starfruit and gently leafy notes. A taut, complex palate of lime-leaf, bay, wild thyme and juicy grapefruit characters. Concentrated and textural on the finish with purity of fruit and minerality.
Food match
Delicious with brightly-flavoured seafood dishes, Thai salads, citrus dressings.
