The soil is calcarous rocky conglomerate/loess. The grapes were harvested at the end of October. On their arrival at the winery the grapes were mashed and kept in contact with the skins for 24 hours. The wine was fermented and matured in stainless steel and the 2000 vintage was bottled in December 2001.
Bright lime, malty dried apricots, hints of tea -a medley of flavours with a beautiful balance. Bright golden yellow in appearance. A medley of honeyed lime marmalade, apricot fruit and honeysuckle. The delicate fruit and floral flavours fuse well with a palate of black tea, honeyed lime flowers and a hint of dried apricots lifted by refreshing acidity at the finish.
This dessert wine makes an excellent match with fruit pies or crepes.
