Production
The Earthscape label is named according to the lie of the land on which Pyren is planted, from the soil structure in its quartz laden mass, to the rolling valleys, and skyward facing peaks. This release has been harvested in three parts. Uncertain intention , with fortuitous outcomes! Wild yeast fermentation, and rested in used French oak for over 12 months.
Tasting notes
Wonderfully vibrant in colour and aroma , with rose water, crushed red peppercorn and black cherry. The palate is met with driving acidity, almost spicy on first approach. The wines bouquet is closely aligned to taste, with the inclusion of blackberry hanging on the precipice of ripeness. Beautifully shaped tannin forms a mouthfeel that encompassed the wine with meaningful weight and texture.
