The grapes are sourced from Pepe Fusters best vineyard plots across a 26 hectare stone-covered vineyard in Terra Alta, Catalonia - north east Spain. A blend of predominantly Garnacha and Cariñena, with a portion of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah - the Garnacha vines are low-yielding, and nearly 50 years old. The wine spends 10 months in new Dargaud and Jaegle oak barrels.
The old vine Garnacha fruit provides rich, dark and complex, spicy blackberry characters. A big and serious wine - ripe and juicy enough to be enjoyed now but with enough structure to mature for a further 5 years.
