Production
The Eden Valley is a sub-region of the Barossa Valley, known for its cooler climate and high-altitude vineyards, which produce Rieslings with intense fruit flavors, high acidity, and minerality. This wine comes from two Southern Eden Valley vineyards one in Springton and the other in Flaxman’s Valley. Made with a small amount more solids than usual to produce a wine of great texture, balance and finesse.
Tasting notes
A nose of green figs and ripe, green apple and lime zest emerges a palate of textural lime-leaf, greengage plum flesh and salted butter with a pleasing of CO2 in the finish. Its a really delicious, leesy expression of this ancient dry-grown block in the Eden Valley, whose acid profile and texture makes it a great food-pairing Riesling.
