Young vines of about 15yrs, hand harvested and naturally fermented in old barriques and aged for 16 months before being bottled unfiltered.
Tasting notes
I never ever manage to spit Daniel’s Pinot’s when tasting. Just gorgeous and unbelievably good value for a Pinot Noir of this quality. Strawberry calypso sweets (without the sugar), black tea, blood orange and smoked paprika. There’s a lovely clotted cream type richness and texture in the middle palate. This is sexy, (reasonably) cool climate Pinot at its best, and certainly a statement of intent as an entry wine if ever I saw one!
Food match
A nice bit of game would go down lovely. Duck or pigeon, or even some lamb.
