Production

Made purely from Chardonnay grown on the clay-rich left bank of the Chikuma River as it flows through the Hokushin District in the north of Nagano Prefecture. The name Rivalis is derived from the Latin word for “river”, but also means “rival” - chosen to represent the equally high quality of wines made from grapes grown on the left and right banks of the Chikuma River.

Tasting notes

Rich in tropical fruits such as ripe pineapples and mangoes and orange and citrus notes. Elegant flavours of Vanilla and almonds on the palate. The finish is long and complex.

Food match

Poultry dishes, grilled fish or mushroom risotto.
