Production

Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega makes wine from his 12 hectares of vineyard in Parcent, in the province of Alicante. The Moscatel grapes are partially dried on straw mats passito style after picking, resulting in a very high residual sugar. The wine is aged in a variety of barrels including Hungarian and Caucasian. The wine is largely unfiltered, using only a 'rock-catcher' to remove large particles - so may throw a protein haze in the bottle.

Tasting notes

Vibrant orange blossom, butterscotch and lightly herbal, liquorice root notes. A complex and richly-flavoured wine characterised by marmalade, nectarine, honey, spices, and great length. A fantastic dessert wine.

Food match

A great match with blue cheeses or fruit tarts.
