Alluvium is a Field blend of Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Viognier from the single ‘Field of Mars’ vineyard … Sandy, Alluvial soils. As with Alisdair’s other wines … Low yields, ripe but relatively modest alcohol levels, some whole bunch, easy on the oak.
Tasting notes
Very smart wine. Complex, textured, interesting right the way through the bottle. Sometimes reminding you of the Northern Rhone which is logical, sometimes reminding you of Bordeaux … which isn’t!
Food match
Duck breast sliced on a Singapore noodles type thing worked OK.
