Azul y Blanco is Boutinot's joint venture in Argentina with Uco Valley estate and winery, Bodega Urqo. We have worked with Federico Ruiz in Argentina for over 25 years, and when he joined the Urquia family at their Tupungato winery in the Uco Valley, it seemed a natural fit to bring the two together. The winemaking team comprises Guillaume Letang of Boutinot and Leo Pisano of Bodega Urqo, under the guiding eye of local legend, Daniel Pi. Having a base in Argentina gives us access to a long-term supply of high-quality grapes and wine from the Uco Valley and beyond, including organic wines. The winery and vineyards are also fully sustainable certified by the Bodegas de Argentina protocol.
Azul Y Blanc wines are certified sustainable by Bodegas de Argentinas sustainability protocol and validated by Bureau Veritas Argentina S.A. To become certified, a winery and vineyard must undergo an audit that is carried out by an authorized certification agency. The agency will release a compliance report if the vineyard and winery has successfully passed all the assessments the sustainability protocol has to offer. The program also takes care to emphasize a holistic approach when it comes to sustainability, rigorously inspecting all the environmental, social and economic factors of viticulture before deciding on certifications.
