At the heart of our business we’re winemakers and blenders, giving us ultimate control over the style and quality of our wines. But we’re also experts in our market, analysing marketing insight, listening to our diverse business channels to see what’s trending, working with winemakers around the world to bring you both classic and innovative wines, tailored to your customers.
What makes Boutinot different? Put simply it’s down to 4 things. Wine, winemaking, people and the relationships between.
We started as winemakers and blenders, and that’s grown in importance as we’ve grown. It’s how we put our own mark on the wine, how we guarantee the style and the quality. We’re not negotiants, we don’t just fly in, negotiate and fly out. We’re actually on the ground, we live, breathe, grow and make the wine ourselves.
This starts with our team of winemakers, resident in Italy, France, South Africa and England. But they’re just the beginning, it extends to our partnership with a third-generation co-operative in Italy, our vineyards and bottling facility in France, our ‘wild mountain’ home in South Africa, and our English garden vineyard – we’re not just agents, we are winemakers, grape growers, vineyard owners, blenders and bottlers, as well as being brand owners.
Of course the wine is massively important to us, but we believe we can only make good wine with good people, with good relationships, with trust, and a shared belief in what good value wine is – we won’t be the cheapest because we won’t compromise on our wine values, but we will always strive to be the best. Put simply, if we wouldn’t drink it, we won’t bottle it. That’s our guarantee to you.
We add the benefits that we gain from having long term partnerships with growers and producers, built up with our portfolio of over 150 producers around the world servicing our fine dining, on-trade and Independent channels – this gives us greater buying power, stronger partnerships, loyalty, reach, and also helps to guarantee our strict wine quality controls.
And then we do our very best to understand the market, your business, and your consumers, analysing market insight and using our experience as suppliers across the spectrum of UK national, high street and online retailers. Being part of a business that has strengths in the on-trade, extending as far as fine dining, as well as having a global presence, we get to see first-hand what is trending, what consumers are asking for, and through our extensive wine partners and team of product managers, we seek out the new, the unusual and the most commercial.
