We’re delighted to share the news that Wildeberg has been named ‘Winery of the Year’ by Winemag.co.za!

South African wine publication Winemag.co.za has scoured the country, reviewing hundreds of wines and producing various reports over the course of 2022. They have consistently been impressed by our beloved Wildeberg wines, with 6 of the wines gaining over 90 points, so when it came to naming their Winery of the Year it comes as no surprise that they chose Wildeberg!

Wildeberg Red 2021 (96 points), Wildeberg White (94 Points), Coterie by Wildeberg Chenin Blanc & Grenache Blanc 2021  (91 points), Coterie by Wildeberg Semillon & Sauvignon Blanc 2020 2021 (94 points), Coterie by Wildeberg Grenache & Syrah 2021 (94 points), and The Tea Leaf 2021 (91 points).

The judges were also blown away by the ‘mesmerising views’ at Wildeberg, as well as the impeccable hospitality which compliments the ‘excellent wines’.

“The winery, manor house and farm cottage are all set up against the towering majesty that is the Franschhoek Mountain, more affectionately called ‘the wild mountain’ by those who know her well” .

Wildeberg was founded in 2017 and now consists of 10ha of vineyards, including Chardonnay, Semillon, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Our 350 tonne capacity cellar only just came into operation in time for this years harvest, so it’s incredible to be winning such a prestigious award.

We are delighted by this fantastic recognition for our winemaking team and all our partners that makes it happen each year. – JD Rossouw, Wildeberg winemaker
