Sebastián Tramón from Emiliana organic winery named Green Personality of the Year 2024
Congratulations to Sebastián Tramón, Sustainability Manager at Emiliana, who was honoured at the Drinks Business Green Award 2024, receiving recognition as Green Personality of the Year.
Now in its 15th year, the Green Awards celebrates the drinks companies that are going above and beyond to reduce their impact on the environment. The ceremony, held in central London, also saw Viña Emiliana receive The Amorim Special Award in recognition of its sustainability trajectory.
“This award reflects Sebastián’s tireless work and all of Emiliana’s efforts, inspiring us to continue leading a movement we firmly believe in: that global agriculture should be organic,” stated Emiliana CEO Cristián Rodríguez.
Since taking charge of the Sustainability department over 10 years ago, Tramón has driven a profound transformation at Emiliana. Under his leadership, the winery solidified its commitment to organic agriculture and sustainability through pioneering initiatives, such as the “The Future is Organic” strategy, which positions B Corp certification and Regenerative Organic certification as fundamental pillars of the company’s future.
Among his main achievements are the creation of Emiliana’s first strategic Sustainability plan, the allocation of a dedicated budget for these purposes, and the formation of a specialized team working to generate a positive impact on employees, communities, and the environment. 2024 sees Emiliana celebrate its 25th anniversary and at the start of the year become B Corp certified. Speaking about this achieve Cristián Rodríguez CEO said
“we joined the global movement of companies that lead the transformation towards an inclusive, fair, and regenerative economic system. To be part of this select group of companies worldwide, we had to demonstrate that our company meets high social and environmental standards. We also had to modify the company’s bylaws to reflect our commitment to people and the planet.”
