Review Round-up (Oct-Nov ’19)
What's been said about our wines this month..
We truly believe our wines are fantastic, but you already knew that – we wouldn’t sell them if we didn’t! That said, it is always nice when someone else comes along and recognises the quality in our portfolio, even better when they write a lovely review in the press to tell everyone about it… Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been saying about us this last month!
Waterkloof, Circle of Life White 2016 – “The best release yet of this wild-fermented cuvée of mostly Sauvignon Blanc with 29% Chenin Blanc and a splash of Chardonnay. Aged in older oak, it’s leesy, grapefruity and tangy with citrus and apple fruit and subtle, stony reduction. 2019-23” 95 points, Tim Atkin South Africa Special Report 2019.

Reviewed by Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate (10th Oct 2019):
Villa Raiano Taurasi 2014: “This is a plump and ripe expression of Aglianico with many pretty fruit details surrounded by spice, smoke and cured leather or tobacco. Villa Raiano has done well to capture the spirit and accessibility of this difficult vintage, giving the 2014 Taurasi a sophisticated twist nonetheless.” 92 points
Villa Raiano Greco di Tufo 2018: ” …fresh and buoyant with citrus aromas, white flower and honeydew melon. You could pair this wine with a summer salad topped with snow peas and watercress.” 88 points
Villa Raiano Fiano di Avellino 2018: ” ...is a very nice, bright and expressive interpretation of this popular grape from Campania in Southern Italy. The bouquet reveals lemony custard notes and salty minerals all mixed into one happy wine to drink by the pool.” 89 points

Decanter magazine:
Campogiovanni Rosso di Montalcino 2016: “Lovely weight and texture, with extremely fresh raspberry and redcurrant fruit. Intense spicy notes of smoky woodland, with grainy yet delicate tannins. Drink 2019-2024.” 93 points.
