Review Round-up (Nov '20) - Boutinot

What's been said about our wines...

We truly believe our wines are fantastic, but you already knew that – we wouldn’t sell them if we didn’t!

That said, it is always nice when someone else recognises the quality in our portfolio, even better when they write a lovely review in the press to tell everyone about it…

Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been saying about us this last month!

The ‘Food Match’ Trophy winners from this year’s Sommelier Wine Awards have just been announced, following a delay due to COVID. Vila Nova Vinho Verde 2019 took one of the trophies, as a great pairing for classic Fish & Chips. Congratulations to Bernardo and the team at Casa de Vila Nova!

Meanwhile, in other news…

Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino 2015:

“… a lovely, dark and savoury wine to serve with a platter of fatty charcuterie and aged tomme cheese. The bouquet is elegant and linear, showing a pretty ensemble of dark fruit, cassis and dried cherry. This vintage is particularly well balanced, with soft spice and crisp acidity competing for your attention and keeping things bright and interesting.” 94 pts. Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate (15th Oct 2020)

San Felice Il Grigio Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2016 *: “Smoke, meat and wet earth to the black fruit. Black truffle, too. Full-bodied, chewy and fruity. Lots of smoky wood. Tight and in need of time to open up, yet it already delivers beautifully polished, caressing tannins. Decant before serving. An amazing wine. Drink or hold.” 96 pts. (27th Oct 2020)

* UK 75cl bottle stock is currently 2015, but we have 2016 in magnum
