Review Round-Up (Feb 2026)
We truly believe our wines are fantastic, but you already knew that – we wouldn’t sell them if we didn’t!
That said, it is always nice when someone else recognises the quality in our portfolio, even better when they write a lovely review in the press to tell everyone about it…
Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been saying about us recently!
Emiliana 57 Rocas Carménère, DO Valle de Colchagua [Organic & Biodynamic] 2022: Chalky nose is very carmenère with nice blackcurrant fruit. The palate is supple and fresh with nice concentration showing grainy, chalky black cherry and blackberry fruit as well as some blackcurrant, with nice green hints. Concentrated, textured, and fresh, showing Carmenère at its best. 94/100 Jamie Goode, Wine anorak (February 2026)
Emiliana Coyam, DO Valle de Colchagua [Organic] :There’s some sweet blackcurrant fruit here as well as bright berry fruit and a hint of saltiness. There’s concentration here but also freshness with great balance between the sweet, accessible black fruit character and then the structure and acidity. It’s pleasurable and also has some seriousness. 94/100 Jamie Goode, Wine anorak (February 2026)
Sound of White Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2022: Uniquely herbal, exotic style of fruit…Its’ a distinctive wine, one that exudes scents of acacia honey, wild thyme, sage and kumquat, along with electric acidity and a beguilingly smooth, rich texture. Highly individual, top-drawer Marlborough Sauvignon. And just in case you’re wondering, the image on the eye-catching yellow label is of the iconic Catalina boat plane, after which the winery was named. 96pts Peter and Susie Richards ‘New Zealand Wines of the Year’ (February 2026)
Catalina Sounds Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough 2023: Wonderfully expressive and pure, with peapod, asparagus and gooseberry on the nose, juicy passionfruit in the mouth and a bright, salty lick to the finish. Although there’s a touch of oak here, you’d never know it – it simply adds texture to what is a classic, refined New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. 94pts Peter and Susie Richards ‘New Zealand Wines of the Year’ (February 2026)
Nanny Goat Pinot Noir, Central Otago 2023: Dark fruited take on Pinot with evident, grippy tannin and a bold muscular finish. 93pts Peter and Susie Richards ‘New Zealand Wines of the Year’ (February 2026)
Château l’Ermite d’Auzan Cuvée Sainte-Cécile Blanc, AOP Costières de Nîmes [Organic & Biodynamic] 2024: Macadamia and preserved lemon aromas introduce this a proudly barrel-fermented style of white Rhône. It’s medium to full-bodied, with good freshness and energy. The oak is present on both nose and palate, but the strength of the fruit meets it, and the lemony flavours rise on the finish. The fruit isn’t occluded by oak, and there’s a long finish. Food friendly style. 92pts Decanter (February 2026)
Château l’Ermite d’Auzan Blanc, AOP Costières de Nîmes [Organic & Biodynamic] 2025: A fresh, vibrant, zesty style with a touch of lemon verbena. Rounded in texture, but only light- to medium-bodied, with well-balanced acidity. Fairly persistent finish. Refreshing, with tangy acidity. 91pts Decanter (February 2026)
Château l’Ermite d’Auzan Rosé, AOP Costières de Nîmes [Organic & Biodynamic] 2025: Pale pink in colour, with red cherry and watermelon aromas. A light-bodied, fresh style that’s very drinkable, with lively acidity. A fresh, straight and well-balanced rosé. 90pts Decanter (February 2026)
Château l’Ermite d’Auzan Rouge, AOP Costières de Nîmes [Organic & Biodynamic] 2024: Between a dark rosé and a light red in colour, it has a dark cherry tint. Savoury style on the palate, essentially a clairet style, having seen 24 hours’ skin contact. Good acidity, light tannins, and dried berry flavours. Not as full-bodied as a Tavel. Very smashable. 90pts Decanter (February 2026)
Peter Lehmann The Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz, Barossa Valley 2021: An iconic sparkling red, perfect for Australia Day and a great partner for this haggis Wellington. Full-bodied with ripe black druit, warming spice and lively bubbles. The Sunday Post Wine of the Week (February 2026)
