What's been said about our wines...

We truly believe our wines are fantastic, but you already knew that – we wouldn’t sell them if we didn’t!

That said, it is always nice when someone else recognises the quality in our portfolio, even better when they write a lovely review in the press to tell everyone about it…

Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been saying about us this last month!

San Felice Chianti Classico 2020: “This supple red shows a core of cherry and plum fruit allied to olive, juniper and tobacco notes. Delivers well integrated tannins and acidic structure, lingering nicely on the finish. Sangiovese, Colorino and Pugnitello. Drink
now through 2030. 92ptsBruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator (30th September 2022)

San Felice Chianti Classico 2020: “A medium-to full-bodied Chianti Classico with fresh strawberries, grapefruit, raspberries and a herbal undertone. This is juicy and transparent with a tight, tannic structure. Not austere, though. Drink now. 91pts.JamesSuckling.com  (14th July 2022)

San Felice Pugnitello 2019*: ” …is an intriguing wine. It offers up copious dark cherry fruit, plum, leather, coffee, liquorice and dried herbs, showing notable depth and concentration. There’s plenty of tannic heft, but thi is Pugnitello, after all. 92pts.Antonio Galloni, Vinous (June 2022) *UK stock is currently 2018

San Felice Il Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva 2019: “… is vibrant, fleshy and super-expressive. Bright acids lend brightness as this mid-weight, translucent Riserva opens in the glass. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, leather and rose petal are nicely layered. The 2019 is not a big Riserva but it is elegant and impeccable in its balance. 90pts.” Antonio Galloni, Vinous (June 2022)

Fernando de Castilla Antique Amontillado NV: “Pale coppery hue. There is a bitter-caramel depth to the nose, blending roasted nuts and espresso notes together. The palate shows dark bread crust, blood-orange peel and brine. Super balance, with rich layers that match sweet and savoury. Tangy with an almost amaro quality, it is very long, mouth-watering and moreish. Superb. 18+pts.” Tom Parker MW, JancisRobinson.com (4th August 2022)

Fernando de Castilla Antique Oloroso NV: “Mid copper colour. Silky, honeyed with roasted nuts on the nose. Burnt caramel, espresso and cocoa come together with dried fig, dark chocolate and a lighter dried-citrus note. Smooth, with lightly tangy acidity. Long, fine and seductive. 17+pts.” Tom Parker MW, JancisRobinson.com (4th August 2022)

Fernando de Castilla Antique Fino NV: “Straw colour. Very saline, full of preserved lemons, bread crust and aged alpine cheese. Bone dry, grippy, pithy and very fine. Matching intensity with tangy, vibrant acidity. Lively and concentrated to a very long finish. Outstanding fino. 17pts.” Tom Parker MW, JancisRobinson.com (4th August 2022)

Uggiano Governo Toscana 2020: “A fresh and firm wine with blackberry and flint aromas and favours. Some graphite, too. Medium body. Integrated tannins to the dark fruit. Drink now. 92pts.” JamesSuckling.com (8th August 2022)
