Review Round-up (August '21) - Boutinot

What's been said about our wines...

We truly believe our wines are fantastic, but you already knew that – we wouldn’t sell them if we didn’t!

That said, it is always nice when someone else recognises the quality in our portfolio, even better when they write a lovely review in the press to tell everyone about it…

Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been saying about us this last month!

Aglianico del Vulture Terre di Orazio 2018: ” …mixes spicy red berries with clove and candied orange to create a seductive bouquet. Its silky textures are lifted by brisk acids, as tart cherry and blueberry skins saturate the palate. Fine-grained tannins linger, framing the experience nicely, as the Terre di Orazio tapers off to notes of blackberry and sage. Very nice. 91pts“. Eric Guido, Vinous (July 2021)

Araldica Asti Dolce NV: “From vineyards in the Monferrato hills, this has a very fresh nose of ripe green apple, a touch of grape and some floral notes. The palate is focused on sweet peach, sour apple, white flowers, white grapes and a gentle, creamy mousse. The finish is fresh and highlights this wine’s superb balance. 91pts.” James Button, Decanter (22nd March ’21) *Araldica Asti is one of the 4 x top scoring wines in the article – all with 91pts

Rulendis Pinot Grigio 2019: “Rulendis comes from the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, north of Lake Garda, where Pinot Grigio ripens around three weeks later than elsewhere in the sunny but cool summers. The aromas and flavours in the 2019 are intense, precise and persistent – lime and lemon with a touch of apricot, a deep, mineral core and long, firm, salty citrus acidity. It’s bone-dry, powerful and complex and yet there’s a mountain airiness and energy to it.” Joanna Simon’s ‘Wine of the Week’, (5th August ’21). To read the full review click here.

Domaine des Tourelles Rosé 2020: “Lots of very ripe, almost toffeed strawberries. Red apple. Not bone dry, but ye goods, a good pairing with chilli-barbecue-sauce marinated and grilled chicken. Proper summer-barbecue rosé. 16pts.” Tamlyn Currin (9th August ’21)

Barolo Bussia, Dardi Le Rose 2017: “Just mid ruby with bricky rim. Brooding and ripe but not yet open on the nose. Mouth-filling red fruit matched by long chewy tannins and perfectly balanced. Great tannic grip on a plush fruit finish. Drink 2021-2028. 17+pts.” Walter Speller MS, (13th July ’21)

Rag & Bone Riesling 2021: “Musky, spicy perfume over lemon barley and lime. It’s tight, chalky in texture, and light and lively too, with lemon barley and kaffir lime leaf perfume, a cool ‘mineral’ feel, very discreet and highly strung, but good to drink and very refreshing with it, the powdery and chalky finish is a highlight.” Gary Walsh, The Wine Front (July 2021)
