A glimpse at some of the new producers joining our portfolio this spring.

We are excited to introduce some exciting new producers joining the Boutinot portfolio from Spring 2025.

Meet Tellurian

Tellurian was born of founder Ian Hopkins’ passion for Heathcote shiraz. When offered the opportunity to establish a new vineyard on the Mount Camel range in 2002, Ian’s enthusiasm was driven by the idea of crafting something fine and beautiful from Heathcote’s 550 million-year-old Cambrian soils. Shiraz was their first planting, but over time they have added Rhône varieties which are perfectly suited to the continental climate. They moved to organic farming (certified since 2018) allowing their wines to naturally reflect the influence of these incredible soils.

Meet El Escocés Volante

El Escocés Volante is a boutique producer in Aragón who make elegant, bright wines from Old Vines and mostly single vineyards. The work of Norrel Robertson a charismatic Scottish MW who has lived and made wine in Spain for the past 20 years. Inspired by the terroir and the sheer quality of the Garnacha he found there – this grape became his initial focus and drive, seeking out and retrieving old Garnacha vineyards. This ‘mission’ has extended to other varieties, including an old Macabeo vineyard, planted in 1969. based around Garnacha, Macabeo and Viognier. He has been a flying winemaker and takes his international experience to these particular parcels in Calatayud. He is well known with wine journalists and the UK trade, with his wines receiving high scores and praise from critics.

Meet No Rules

The Portal da Estrela pair we have just launched are made by upcoming Portuguese winemaker Tiago Macena. They represent some of the best elements of the Dão, fresh yet juicy styles of wine that really overdeliver. Tiago sources from the best parcels of local varieties to express the characteristics of the Serra da Estrela sub-region, which has the highest mountain ranges in Portugal.

Meet Domaine les 4 Vents

Domaine les 4 Vents is a family owned, organically certified Domaine in the heart of Crozes-Hermitage run by two sisters Lucie Fourel and Nancy Cellier.  In their words they are “in the constant pursuit of the respect of the environment, our interventions in the vines, as in the cellar, are simply to accompany the grapes, then the wine, towards it’s most authentic expression”.  The wines are an AOP Crozes-Hermitage “Les 4 Vents” and AOP Crozes-Hermitage “Les Pitchounettes”, both expressive, 100% Syrah red wines from the south of the appellation.

Meet Domaine Emile Cheysson

We will welcome three new wines from Beaujolais made by accomplished winemaker Jean-Pierre Large. With 36 years at the helm of this family Domaine, Jean-Pierre’s wines are meticulously made but remain joyful and very drinkable, exactly what we have been searching for in a Beaujolais producer.  An advocate of Terra Vitis viticulture, his vineyards are spread over 100 parcels in this famously hilly and very beautiful Beaujolais Cru, all with the granite soil which suits Gamay so well producing a juicy yet nervy and expressive style. The range is made up of the Domaine Cheysson AOP Chiroubles and natural Domaine Cheysson La Prieuré, which is made without added sulphites, as well as Jean-Pierre’s own AOP Morgon “Les Delys”, made from vines that are over 100 years old.
