This is produced from the Durello grape, which is local to the Veneto region, and grown on the cool, volcanic, hillside vineyards of Monti Lessini. These small, late-maturing grapes have naturally high acidity – ideal for the production of sparkling wines.
Traditionally Durello Spumante has been bottle fermented, with up to 6 years on lees. However the variety is also well-suited to the production of fresh, zesty tank method wines such as this.
Our Durello Spumante Brut Palladiano is bottled after 2-3 months on lees, to produce a fizz with gently floral and citrus aromas, crisp green apple, and lightly honeyed characters. Refreshing and with lovely depth of flavour. We think it looks great too!
