For the 3rd time in 4 years we've been awarded 'Great Value Merchant' at the Sommelier Wine Awards
Value for money is a key aspect of the service we offer to our customers. We stand by the quality of every bottle in our portfolio but to deliver value in every bottle, too, is tricky, so it’s hugely gratifying to consistently be recognised as leaders in this area.
We were particularly proud to be recognised as delivering great value across the board, not just in the lower price point categories – the SWA judges said “This award is proof that Boutinot should be on the radar of any venue looking for wines that overdeliver at sub £40 on a list. Their value for money always stands out.”
Receiving awards like this are brilliant and the focus for us immediately moves to being recognised for the same next year. To celebrate we’ve compiled a list of a range of wines that, we think, demonstrates great value for our customers.

6 Great Value Wines for the On-Trade
La Leyanda de Las Cruces
Sauvignon Blanc, 2019
The relentless, roaring waves off the Chilean coast give this wine it’s name – ‘Las Cruces’ is the name of the town where, legend has it, 3 crosses were planted in memory of those killed in a violent shipwreck. The roiling waves present on the vibrant label allude to the intense, energetic flavour. Aromas of pink grapefruit and peach, with a sharp citrus flavour, explain why it not only won a Gold medal but also the Pub & Bar trophy at this year’s SWAs.
Vinho Verde, 2019
From a Portuguese family of aristocratic lineage comes this delicious Vinho Verde. Battling the winds of the Atlantic coast, the wines developed here have a taste unique to this part of the world. With a delicious mix of citrus and tropical flavours this is one of our most refreshing wines.
Brisa de Verano Garnacha Tinta
A gem in Boutinot Spain’s crown, this Garnacha is a kaleidoscope of dark, fruity flavours with a hint of peppery spice thrown in. Translating to ‘Summer Breeze’ the Brisa de Verano certainly makes us feel fine. And, given both the 2017 and 2018 vintages have won gold awards in the SWAs, we’re clearly not the only ones who think it’s a big hit.
Crocera Barbera d’Asti Superiore
Il Cascinone, 2017
Quite honestly one of our most delicious wines. Grown on Araldica’s stunning Il Cascinone estate, hidden in the Monferrato hills, their expert winemakers have crafted an unbelievably tasty Barbera. The intense, dark fruit flavours deliver a rich, juicy taste – perfect with a range of dishes but equally as good solo, this wine more than deserves it’s Gold medal.
Adria Vini Venezie, NV
From the sun drenched hills of Piemonte comes this exquisite prosecco. Developed by the virtuoso team at Adria Vini (a winemaking collaboration between Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero) the fresh and fruit flavours deliver an exceptionally tasty, dry finish.
Lunetta Rosé Spumante Brut
An impeccable choice for a 2020 summer. From the mountains of northeast Italy, this light and fresh Rosé isn’t just a beautiful looking sparkling wine. It packs a sweet, red berry taste and, with both standard 75cl and ‘mini’ 20cl single serve options, the Lunetta Rosé is a versatile choice for any venue.
